Info About Our Show Presentation
and New Member Audition
Thank you for your interest in joining The Mellows for our performance of Rock of Ages in September 2024.
Here is some information on the Director’s Presentation and New Member Auditions for the show.

Here are the details for the Presentation and New Member Auditions…
Director’s Presentation
Date & Time: Sunday 19th May 2024 at 7pm
Venue: Mellows HQ (The full address and map are in the info booklet).
The Presentation is an informal gathering where members and people interested in joining us, learn all about the next show, listen to some of the music from it and the production team will explain the fun they have planned for us.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the adult nature of Rock of Ages, you must be over the age of 18 to perform in this show.
New Member Auditions
Date & Time: Thursday 23rd May at 7pm
Venue: Mellows HQ
As mentioned in the info booklet, if you’d like to perform on stage with us, then you will need to take part in the New Member Auditions.
At the audition, you will be asked to…
Sing a song of your own choosing.
This should preferably be from a musical and you should bring a backing track along with you. We will have a bluetooth speaker available if you want to connect and play the track from your phone. If you prefer a different method of playing your track though, please bring the correct equipment with you as we’d hate to not be able to play your track for you.
Read some dialogue.
This will be sent to you in advance so you can familiarise yourself with it. You do not have to learn the
piece though.
Perform some simple dance steps
These will be shown to you at your audition
We realise that some people are quite nervous at the thought of auditioning but we always do our best to make you feel at home and make it an enjoyable experience rather than a scary one.

Dates for Rock of Ages Show Week
Performances: Tuesday 10th to Saturday 14th September.
Evenings at 7.30pm plus a Saturday Matinee at 2.30pm.
Full Day Long Rehearsal: Sunday 1st September.
Full day Technical Rehearsal: Sunday 8th September.
